Season’s Greetings from Xiphera – Reflecting on a Record-Breaking Year of 2024

Another year has come to an end, and Xiphera’s team is turning on the Christmas mood and getting ready for the well-deserved holidays. Let’s take a look into what we have done and accomplished this year.

New year with new products and partnerships

The New Year started off with news from the product sector: after receiving our first U.S. patent for Secret Unique Key for a Volatile FPGA method in early February, a few weeks later we expanded our Asymmetric Cryptography portfolio with the high-speed ECC Accelerator IP core, providing significant speed increase and comprehensive support for multiple elliptic curves. In March, we launched our extreme-speed IPsec – the IP core achieves a throughput exceeding 200 Gbps in modern high-end FPGAs and ASICs. IPsec, along with the other solutions for Security Protocols product family, was also discussed in our webinar in March.

In April, with our participation in the Embedded world in Nuremberg, Germany, we were excited to launch the new product family for nQrux® Hardware Trust Engines. nQrux® family offers customisable cryptographic security modules for the most critical environments and hardware applications. The family was expanded with nQrux® Confidential Computing Engine (CCE) solution in May.

New cryptographic solutions were also launched with our new partners: Xiphera partnered with Missing Link Electronics (MLE) for the Encrypted Network Accelerator Solutions (ENAS), offering a cryptographically secure and reliable connection between devices over TCP/IP and TLS 1.3. Additionally, we announced our expansion to the Taiwanese market with our new partnership with Kaviaz Technology. In spring, we also celebrated the promotion of Tommi Lampila as Xiphera’s new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

Big announcements for the summer season

The month of June started with our second webinar of the year, discussing challenges and practical building blocks for strengthening digital resilience within modern IoT, Cloud, and AI environments. The next day, Xiphera’s summer day took the team to race each other in karting, where we concluded that not only our IP cores could reach extreme speed!

We took the Xiphera team to a karting race in our annual Xiphera summer day.

In mid-June, we announced our membership in a consortium related to the F-35 program with Lockheed Martin in Finland. The consortium is led by Crosshill Ltd, and in addition to Xiphera, it includes Habilito Oy and Nixu Corporation from Finland. The project combines the expertise of the Finnish companies with Lockheed Martin’s capabilities and global defence industry leadership.

July brought the three-year-long European AI-NET project to conclusion. Along with the annual FPGA Conference in Munich, Germany, we took part in the AI-NET end event in Berlin in early-July, where we were also happy to witness AI-NET receiving the prestigious CELTIC-NEXT Innovation Award.

In August, the cryptography community was holding their breath, when the U.S. NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) published the awaited standards for post-quantum cryptographic algorithms. Xiphera had been prepared to this standard publication, and our xQlave® family of Post-Quantum Cryptography has been designed to comply with the final standards.

Great end for a great year

The fall season started with big announcements, as we published our quantum-resilient nQrux® Secure Boot solution, as well as announced a development project of quantum-resilient Authenticated Boot and Hardware Root of Trust solutions for space-grade semiconductor architectures. The project is partially financed by the European Space Agency (ESA), and the solutions have been designed in close co-operation with Frontgrade Gaisler, a leading Swedish developer of space-grade electronics. Authenticated Boot is planned to be integrated into Frontgrade Gaisler’s space-grade GR765 processor.

During fall, we exhibited and presented in multiple industry events, including FPGAworld, Altera Innovators Day, ADCSS, and Lattice Developers Conference. Additionally, we announced a new sales partnership with IPro for the Israeli semiconductor market, as well as hosted our last webinar of the year, discussing our newly launched nQrux® Secure Boot solution.

End of the year 2024 concluded with one more partnership announcement with Crypto Quantique for quantum-resilient Hardware-Trust Engines, introducing our new board in a blog post in November, as well as winning the pitch session in the ECCC Access-2-Finance Matchmaking Event in Sofia, Bulgaria. In December, the team concluded the busy and exciting year by gathering to enjoy a delicious Christmas lunch in a beautiful restaurant Haikaranpesä in Espoo, Finland.

Xiphera is the winner of the ECCC Access-2-Finance Matchmaking Event and will advance to the ECSO STARtup Award 2025 finals.

2024 marks a record-breaking year for Xiphera, being a testament to the trust and support of our customers, the dedication of our employees, and the confidence of our partners and investors. Entering the holiday season and the new year, we remain steadfast in our commitment to innovation and excellence in the dynamic world of hardware-based security and cryptography.

Xiphera team wishes everyone happy holidays and a prosperous New Year!
